Wishing Well

Lyrics:
I'm wishing you well
Goodbye, I can't do this anymore
I hope that you feel the same
We've got to move on

I'm wishing you well
And I wish you'd stop calling me
Don't you know that I feel the same?
But I want to move on, so

Throw me down the wishing well
And forget about all of me
Let our memories drown
Let our hearts be free

I'm wishing you well
I'm sure you'll have a great time
Call me when you get there
I'll make sure I'm around

I'm wishing you well
And I hope you can move on
I hope you can move on
Please tell me when you've moved on, as you

Throw me down the wishing well
You'll forget about all of me
Let our memories drown
Let our hearts be free again, as you

Throw me down the wishing well
And forget about all of me
Let our memories drown
Let our hearts be free at last.

Progress

I've lost a lot of motivation recently. I had, for the most part, stopped feeling an unwavering loneliness but subtle changes seem to have me back at it again. The introduction of new and the remaining old situations are killing me. I've almost entirely quit smoking so I'm constantly stressed, especially at my day job. New friends, the status of my closest friends, and people that won't give me time or expect it all send me to epic highs and lows. Making drastic adjustments to my personality and personableness have favourable affects that seem painful to start. Eat too much and you'll feel full but then you'll grow hungry, I suppose. An incapable, social glutton, rushing into things? Probably.

haha, I don't think this status update would have fit on twitter (lame)

Progress on my music has slowed. I find I'm writing more but editing less. Well, when I snap out of it you'll receive a bountiful rush :)

Be well.

Everything

Can be surrounded and still alone.
I want your call, can't be alone forever.
I want to search beyond. Do you leave me any choice?
If I search beyond you I lose everything.

Everything lost,
Again alone.

Why do I think about you all the time?
It's been about 2 months since we were together.
So hard just to make a call.
You make it feel so far but Toronto's just an hour from here.

Everything slipping,
Losing focus.

Help + Early Preview

I've mapped out a plan for the new CD "Blades of grass..." that will hopefully help me streamline and finish faster with the highest quality.

I've written 18 potential songs so far, and plan to write another 17 before I decide on a final track list to record. Anyone interested in hearing demos early and giving me some feedback, please message me! I can definitely use the help, and you'll get to hear unique versions of songs that no one else will get to hear. If interested, message me at graham[at]lahrymalquietus.com with an email titled "Interested."

Great, I look forward to sharing all I can with you.

New and Reissue

I'm keeping really busy right now, so 2010 will be something to look forward to (for any Lachrymal Quietus fans). There will be a new LQ album, titled, "blades of grass against your pale cheek." This CD is a slight departure from the ambient, melancholic sound of my previous few releases. I'd go as far as calling it my "pop" album. I'd like to release one accessible CD before I return to my depressive, post-rock sound. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Also, for fans of my earlier works, I'm busy remaking 3 CDs:
- a tearful release
- if I'm not a ghost then why don't you see me?
- tree sparrow

Rewrite. Remix. Remaster. Some of the early mixes are sounding really good, and totally taking each CD in a completely new direction. New track lists, new songs, and some songs, sadly, got cut (probably shouldn't have been on there in the first place).

Check back periodically for more information.

Thanks for your continued support.
-Graham.

Loser

Lyrics:
I'm useless but you already knew that.

I mean nothing to you anymore.
I'm surprised I ever did.
You're too selfish for me.
You wouldn't care less if I cried
'cause I'm just a useless failure.

What has happened?
Who has changed?
I never realized I could mean so little.
How can you go about saying you're better than me?
You wouldn't care less if I died
'Cause I'm just a useless failure.

Yeah, I'm useless.

Originally appears on "Black [ep]" by A FUNERAL MORNING. This is a more aggressive/assertive version than the previous sad/passive version.

Failure

LYRICS:
Have fun being alone.
I've been alone this whole time.
I'm a cup half empty
And you're the stab in my side.

I'm a failure. You've said so before.
But it takes one to know one.

I wonder why I'm so fucking wrong
But it's been like this all along.
We've all made bad decisions
But only some of us feel the cut.

Slumber Through Winter

LYRICS:
N/A

This song was written years ago. It has been performed live but this is the first time it will appear on an album.

Better

LYRICS:
I'm selfish, no control.
Pushing so hard and going nowhere.
Thoughts that left my mind always
find their way back home

So why can't I change?

"Someday things will change" feels like a lie.
Am I really waiting to die?
Everything is fucked up and
I'm just making it worse.

So why can't I change?

Pretend

LYRICS:
Pretend to care.
You won't be there.
You won't.

Last I remember
We played lets pretend.
Let's pretend again.
Again.

Pretend to feel.
I won't feel this.

Is it ever over?
It seems nothing ends.
Nothing can begin.

Last I remember
We played who is who.
Let's pretend again.
Again.

A Life of Regret

LYRICS:
If there is one thing I regret
It's not taking my life yesterday.
I've been despairing so long
I've forgotten what it is to hope.

Previously unfinished. Poem originally posted on Myspace blog.

Solitary Man

LYRICS:
It's so painful
As a solitary man.
I once hated myself
Now I hate you.

Previously from the Forgotten Day EP, recorded October 27, 2008.

Concept Work

The new CD will be called "Blades of Grass Against Your Pale Cheek," taken from the title of a song that I will likely never release, from back in my "New York Taxi Cab" days.

Here is the original cover design that I created way back when:

Right now, these are the songs I'm considering including:
  • Pretend
  • A Life of Regret
  • Solitary Man
  • Slumber Through Winter
  • I Lay My Last Breath
  • Some Nights End Well, Others...
  • Tears Fall One by One
  • Breton's Nadja
  • The Future Holds... Nothing.
  • October 1, 07
  • We Sing-Sing Solemn Songs
Enjoy the demos as they come!
Graham.

New CD

It seems I haven't kept track since "If I'm not a ghost..." was new.

I'm working on a new CD, that aurally will be very similar to "Days of Being Aflame" but, for the first time in Lachrymal Quietus history, I plan to leave the recording, mixing and (for the first time) mastering to a professional.

During the Halloween weekend, my band TZAMETI recorded our first 4 song demo at Vibewrangler Studio with Glen Marshall and Jon Daly. It turned out great and the guys were great so hopefully by early-summer I'll have again set up in their studio and started recording.

Brendan, drummer of TZAMETI, has volunteered to record drums tracks, and I can handle the rest. I plan to make the bed tracks in my usual homemade-style to save some time in the studio, and I'll be posting those demos here as I go.

Please, all feedback is greatly appreciated. I want to make this my best CD to date, and it won't be good if I'm the only person that likes it, haha.

Thanks,
Graham.
